CONFERENCE-- UPDATE

The NZSSA has received a few emails from some Health NZ -Te Whatu Ora members who state that their hospital claims that they are not allowed to attend conferences. Enquiries to the top at Health NZ-Te Whatu Ora identify that there is absolutely  NO DIRECTIVE  that staff cannot attend conferences. In fact I am aware that many Anaesthetic technicians are being approved to attend overseas conferences.  Many hospitals are waiting for the 1st of July when the new financial year commences to approve conference leave. Those employees of Health NZ-Te Whatu Ora need to talk with their Directors of Allied Health to support their conference applications. Shelagh Thomas
